Originally from Bentonville, Arkansas, Sydney relocated to Chicago at the age of 16 to pursue a career in comedy, where she began studying at The Second City Training Center.
After turning 21, Sydney began as an intern for Chicago Underground Comedy, where she later became a producer and programming director, retiring from the show after four years (on her 25th birthday).
Her comedy specials "TRASH," and "Wasted (Potential)" are available for streaming on Amazon Prime. In addition to performing, Sydney has hosted and produced live comedy shows for The Second City, The Comedy Bar, Third Coast Comedy Club, and Apollo Theater Chicago (among others).
She served as a faculty member of The Second City Training Center from 2017 to 2022, and currently teaches at Third Coast Comedy Club in Nashville. Between them, she's taught stand-up comedy, storytelling, public speaking, and more.
She also developed the curriculum currently in use at SCTC for Storytelling 1 & 2, Standup 1, 2, & 3, and Public Speaking 101 (at the time of this bio in 2024).
Outside of standup comedy and storytelling, Sydney is the host of a quickly-growing podcast called Growing Up Fundie, available on Spotify, Amazon, Apple Music, Google Podcasts and YouTube, and serves as a host on the ACA's livestream shows "Talk Heathen" and "Truth Wanted."
She served as a co-founder of the Clean Comedy Collective (2023) and "The Conversation Coalition" (2023 to present)
